JaneCo’s Resume Writers Enhance Your Resume and Cover Letters with a Style Analysis. Is the person described in your resume and cover letter the same person that walks into the interview room? As your cover letter is being read, the reader perceives a “communication style.” Is that style truly your style, or someone else’s? You deserve and need to have your materials customized to reflect who you are. A professional resume writer must meet some fundamentally important challenges: Powerful and dynamic resumes and cover letters that reach beyond work experience to project a professional persona with specific accomplishments showcased appropriately and the writer must do this while captivating the reader with a marketing message that says “Here is the person you have been seeking.” An interview is the natural consequence of such marketing material. It is critically important that you, during the interview, appear to be the same person that was perceived on paper. A “disconnect” here can spell disaster for you, when you may have otherwise experienced a successful job search. When we write for you, your success requires that we understand your communication style. And communication isn’t restricted to words or phraseology but it includes ingrained behaviors and personal attributes as well – it comes down to who you are. A professional communication style analysis is a key resource for us to understand who you are and how you interact with others and the respond to the environment. This understanding is necessary if we actually meet you in person or if we provide our resume and coaching services by email and phone. We are your professional “ghost writers” and we use the widely known and reliable Success Insights DISC Communication and Behavioral Style assessments to quickly and accurately understand your style. The report we get from this process tells us if we need to write assertively or passively or with a people orientation or a task orientation. The reports help us know your soft skills, your transferrable interpersonal strengths that are not only woven into your resume, but into your cover letters as well. Here is an example, using some of the narrative phrases directly from a DISC Style Analysis report:
Note: If you don't have a JaneCo resume, you may be competing with someone who does! |

The Hiring Authority is Younger, Older, Same, Opposite, Different, Odd . . . |

For the first time we are in a 4 generation workforce. The teams have challenges interacting. Job seekers have challenges at the interview too; communicating effectively. But, You can uncover the personal styles of others. You can know why and, even, how the styles of others differ. You can begin to recognize the unique strengths of the different styles. Once you understand how and why people react and respond differently based on their own personal styles you can learn to appreciate others for the strengths they have instead of focusing on their weaknesses. With an appreciation of how and why people communicate they way they do, you can work as a team better and for those who aren't on the team yet, even communicate better at the job interview. How?
Note: Ask JaneCo's for your own Communication and Behavioral Style DISC report. We'll apply the information to help you reach your goals. If you need a resume, we'll use the information in that process. If you need interview coaching, we'll apply the information for that. If you need to develop a "branding statement" we'll use the information from your report for that. If you need career directions, you guessed . . . We'll use it for that too! |

Different Strokes for Different Folks . . . |

Do we all have to react and respond the same? Do we have to all do the same things to get along? Do we all have to think alike to get along? As we set goals, make plans, develop strategies, etc., it's important to remember that people think differently, decide differently, use time differently, pace themselves differently, communicate differently, handle emotions differently, manage stress differently, deal with conflicting opinions differently, perceive things differently; not necessarily worse, not necessary better, but differently. Yes, different personal styles do approach anything or everything differently.
Note: JaneCo's can help you learn the DISC styles and to better understand people.
This can be an important topic to discuss at an interview when you want to describe your interpersonal skills! |

Interview went great!!! I had not had one in over 20 years so I was pretty pleased with myself. The first thing she said was how impressive my cover letter and resume were so I want to continue to thank you. She was not sure if she was going to be able to afford me so I said that I may be retiring and returning to the work force.
