Cover Letter

A COVER LETTER AND RESUME WORK HAND-IN-HAND

In a cover letter, you can speak directly to the hiring authority from a personal point of view, stating, 'I can do this, I feel that, etc.' A cover letter should always accompany the resume and be crafted in a way that grabs the reader's attention, describing how you are specifically suited to fill this position.

A certified resume writer will incorporate how your personal strengths directly address the needs of the company to whom the cover letter and resume are being sent. These qualifications will be backed up by the content of your resume. Both the cover letter and resume need to be strong, marketing documents-selling YOU to the employer. If one part of this package is poorly written, the other will not pick up the slack. The hiring authority will simply pick up the next cover letter and resume for consideration.

Let a certified professional resume writer - skilled in presenting the qualifications a busy hiring authority seeks in a concise, easy-to-read, dynamic format - give you the advantage and increase your chances of being moved to the top of the list!

Do I need a Cover Letter?

Yes! A cover letter states the reason why your resume has arrived to the potential employers desk. If a cover letter is not included, the hiring authority has to take the time to figure what it is you want and why. You are not likely to get an interview with only a resume, unless a solicitation specifically asks for no cover letter or letter of interest, which is rare.

Will I get a cover letter as part of my resume package with JaneCo?

Of course! Each resume package we prepare will include a cover letter. Your cover letter will not be a duplication of your resume. It will include your skills that specifically match the job for which you want. Your cover letter will refer to your qualifications for the position and illustrate how your abilities relate. Your cover letter will also communicate your interest, motivation and strengths. Your cover letter will also communicate your interest, motivation and strengths and be written in "your voice."

We recommend, that in most cases, you use a targeted (customized) cover letter.

What is a targeted cover letter?

A targeted cover letter is developed to appeal to the specific organization to which you are applying and states what position you are specifically seeking, why you are the candidate for that position and how your resume supports that information.

We also recommend that you take advantage of our targeted (customized) cover letter clerical support.

Do you have a new position in mind? Do you want to apply for a promotion?

You provide us with your target job information, and we will either enhance your original cover letter or develop a new cover letter to be as specific as possible. We match the cover letter content to the job description and explain that you are the best person to be considered for the position. We can even use a signature font on your cover letter and include your resume in an attractive presentation folder. We will mail, email or fax according to the employer's instructions with the appearance that it is coming directly from you.

As a JaneCo client, you have access to our clerical support services. We will prepare your packages and either send to you to deliver appropriately or we will facilitate the delivery process, be it by mail, email or fax.
